Women Beat Palm Beach State
North Branch, NJ - The Lions hosted #17 Palm Beach State on Sunday afternoon and beat the Panthers by a final score of 70-47. This marks the third year in a row the Lions have knocked off a nationally ranked team, and the fourth time in program history. The Lions were led offensively by Maria Eguizabal Ruales who finished the night with 22 points off the bench. The Freshman guard from Logroño, Spain is leading the team in scoring. Both Ona Riopedre and Saionni Patrick finished with 10 points each and rounded out the Lions who scored in double digits. Freshman Julia Sole Pons was close to a triple double as she finished with a season high 10 assists to go along with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Making her first start of the season was freshman, Aviva Palms, who scored 6 early points for the Lions en route to 8 points and a team high 12 boards.
The Lions are now 2-3 on the season and take on the Bears from Harcum College on 11/25 at 5 PM.
