Lions Win After Dropping First Four Games
Branchburg, NJ - After starting the season off on the wrong foot the Lions finally got a win on Wednesday night. The team was 0-4 coming into the match dropping four straight games over the weekend at the Monroe University Invitational. RVCC didn't play their best volleyball, but found a way to hold off a fiesty CCM squad in straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-21.

Avalyn Stayskal finished second on the night to Bordonaro with 9 digs and Claire Holmes finished third with 5. The ball moved around plenty for the Lions offensively as both setters moved the ball around efficiently. Kovacs, and fellow freshmen setter Alaina Munday paced the offensive side of the ball for the Lions with 12 and 8 assists respectively. Defensively the Lions held a height advantage at the net and it showed as Ra-Yanah Brown-Smith dominated with 3 solo blocks, while Ana Martinez Sanz and Amaya Wilson contributed a block assist each, with Wilson collecting a solo block of her own.
