North Branch, NJ - The Women's Basketball Team opened up the 2024 campaign with an 82-53 win over Northampton Community College. The win over the Spartans is the first for the Lions since at least 2010.
Three Lions scored in double figures with Vega Gil leading the way with 23. Lucia Noin had 19 and Julia Fontanillo recorded a double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Fontanillo also had 3 blocks while Gil made 4 of her 6 attempts from beyond the arc. The Lions were scorching from downtown as they finished the night shooting a blistering 50% converting 12 of 24 attempts.
The team returns to Region XIX play on Tuesday 1/16 when they host the Colts from Middlesex College at 5 PM.
