Lady Lions look ahead to final conference double-header after a tough few outings
Raritan Valley Softball has had a tough go after recording losses vs. County College of Morris, Sussex County, and Lackawanna.
Saturday, April 18th vs CC of Morris - In game one of the outing, Rebekah White, the number eight hitter, led Raritan Valley CC with two hits in two at-bats. Clara Jorgensen and Elena Canales each drove in one run for Raritan Valley. Jorgensen paced the Lady Lions with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. In game two, Raritan Valley jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Jayla McNeil drew a walk, scoring one run, Saionni Patrick was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Riley Dosch singled, scoring two runs. Raritan Valley CC tallied 12 hits in the game. Dosch, the number seven hitter for RVCC, led the way with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 3-for-3 on the day. Dosch and Jorgensen each collected three hits for Raritan Valley. McNeil collected two hits in two at-bats. McNeil, Isabella Gallegos, Canales, and Ariel Glezman each stole multiple bases. Raritan Valley CC had a keen eye at the plate, with four walks for the game. Raritan Valley CC ran wild on the base paths, amassing 13 stolen bases for game two.
Wednesday, April 22nd vs. Sussex County - For game one, Raritan Valley was the first to get on the board in the first inning when Dosch put the ball in play, grounded out, scoring one run. Dosch provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led RVCC with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Kelsey Butler set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Raritan Valley CC with two hits in three at-bats. Rosmery Aldana stole two bases. Raritan ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game. With game two, RVCC opened the scoring in the first after Gallegos doubled, scoring one run. Gallegos led Raritan Valley with one run batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day.
Thursday, April 23rd vs. Lackawanna - Rosmery Aldana went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Raritan Valley CC in hits in game one of the doubleheader. Game two, Raritan got on the board in the first inning after McNeil doubled, scoring two runs off the hit. McNeil went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. McNeil, Jorgensen, Gallegos, and Butler each collected one hit for the Lady Lions.

Raritan Valley will travel to Salem Community College on Sunday, April 26th to take on the Mighty Oaks for the final doubleheader conference matchup of the season. Game times are at 12pm and 2pm.
