North Branch, NJ - The Lions of Raritan Valley opened their 2020-2021 season with a two game series against nationally ranked Division 1 Harcum College. RVCC hosted Harcum for game one and found themselves down early. Harcum came out firing on all cylinders, but the Lions were able to weather the storm and settle in. A back and forth competitive first half concluded with the Bears on top 50-38. The second half displayed similar play and eventually Harcum was able to use their size to wear down RVCC winning 103-71. RVCC was led by Freshman Dan Dextraze who provided a spark off the bench finishing with 15 points, and 3 blocks, and Sophomore Goddy Marc led the team with 18 on the night.
RVCC traveled down to Harcum for the second game of the two game series. The Lions were ready to go from the opening tip and kept the game a one possession contest until the 2 minute mark of the first half. The second half of game 2 the Lions were able to withstand multiple Harcum runs and stayed within striking distance the majority of the game. Sophomore Rob Terry led the way for RVCC scoring 20 points finished the game with a double double as he handed out 10 assists. Mark Daniels and Val Julien were both efficient on the night finishing with 12 and 11 points.
