North Branch, NJ - The RVCC Men's Basketball team finished the week with a 2-1 record, including 2 Region 19 victories. The Lions traveled down to Delaware Tech. on Tuesday November 19, 2019. The Lions found themselves in a deep hole spotting the Spirit of Del. Tech a 40-11 lead. RVCC went on 21-2 run to close out the first half and cut the lead to 10 at halftime. Hot shooting to begin the second half helped RVCC take the lead and they would hold on for a 87-76 victory. Rick'Keem Mixson led the Lions with 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Kevin Scanlan and Goddy Marc each knocked down 4 three pointers and finished with 19 and 14 respectively.
On Thursday November 21, 2019 the Lions played host to the Community College of Philadelphia. The Lions again tried to play catch up all game but were unable to overcome CCP's early lead. RVCC shot a season low 27% from the field and were outrebounded by 14. Pierce Kokosinski, Mike DelSantro and Rick'Keem Mixson led the way with 8 points each in the 66-54 defeat.
The Lions closed out the week hosting Region 19 opponent Bucks County Community College. RVCC, again found themselves down by 7 at the half. Bucks was able to add onto their lead and were up by 11 points with 4 minutes left in the game. The Lions were able to outscore the Centurions by 14 points to close out the game, including two clutch three pointers by Sophomore Guard Mike DelSantro. DelSantro tied the game with 40 seconds left and hit the go ahead 3 with 4 seconds left. Rick'Keem Mixson finished the game with a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, and DelSantro finished up with 10 points. With the victory RVCC improves to 5-3 on the season and 4-0 in the region.
