Scranton, PA-- On Tuesday night the RVCC men's basketball team traveled to Johnson College and came out with the win by a final score of 89-67. The Lions took a 54-40 lead into the locker room, and extended the lead to hold onto the win.
Leading the scoring once again was sophomore guard Zaire Robinson with 24 points. Robinson was also keeping his teammates involved as he added six assists. Freshman guard Kevin Saylor scored 22 points on an efficient 64% from the floor as he went 9-14. Two Lions posted double-doubles, as sophomore forward Jawan Robinson had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and sophomore forward Jayce Beasley had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward Sam Pierre played a solid all-around game, as he had eight points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
The Lions shot 38-72 from the field on the game for a quality 52%, and controlled the glass as they outrebounded Johnson 49-31.
With the win the Lions improve to 6-4, and next up is a Region XIX showdown Thursday night against Delaware Technical Community College at home starting at 7pm.
