Men's Basketball Dominates Sussex For 76-45 Win

The RVCC men's basketball team controlled the entire game against Sussex Thursday, winning 76-45. The Golden Lions jumped out to a 34-22 lead, and controlled the second half with a barrage of steals and fast break layups.

Leading the scoring for RVCC was sophomore guard Salman Hasan with 15 points. Freshman forward Zaire Robinson added nine points, as well as freshman guard Logan Santiago. The Golden Lion big men played well, as freshman forward Jawan Robinson scored five points and gathered nine rebounds. Freshman center ThankGod Okenwa scored eight points, had eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Leading the scoring for Sussex was freshman guard Frankie Rios with 10.

The Golden Lions played excellent defense, as they held Sussex to 26% shooting and generated 17 turnovers behind 15 steals. 

Up next for RVCC is a home game this Saturday the 14th against Manor College at 1 p.m.
